If you have access, simplest way is as follows:
Find the file which is called index.htm. Change its name to something other than index.

Do you know if the website is 'protected'? If not I may be able to do it from here if you give me the website address.

Alternatively, contact the ISP that hosts the site and ask them to wipe it.
