I have no idea how you sold this chip and how you described it.

It sounds like the buyer was under the impression that the chip was "100% uncirculated" when they bought it. If you described the chip in that fashion and the chip had wear on it, then the real source of the problem would be how you was described (that's not the buyers fault).
