… I KNEW it would help, and it did.

I went back to the hospital last night to stay with my mother during the night, not expecting a goodnight. I told her she had many prayers coming from all over the country for her and she delighted in that. It was not a bad night but it was still stressful. It is hard to sit and watch someone’s life go from being measured in years to days and hours. She made another 24 hours and has made yet another day. During the night I prayed for her comfort, whatever that may be. It is hard to tell when her mind is frequently short-circuiting and causing confusion. Her an my dad have been married for 52 years and one cannot complete a sentence without the other, they are best friends and each others keepers, it is hard to watch the chain of events unfold. The doctors updated us this morning and there is no good news.

Because of all your responses I feel much better in that I am not crossing this bridge alone. It is hard to talk about this with the rest of my family; the reality has not set in yet. Thank you all for allowing me to vent and get this off my chest. Sorry to take you away from happy chipping talk to this….. but I needed it. If you emailed, I am reading them but slow to respond. Thank you all again…. Maybe there is another 24 hours out there for her.
