You're probably correct Dick. I do recall though during my youth (I'm 66) that city dwellers in Philadelphia and Newark would empty out of the cities during sweltering summer days and head for Atlantic City where the ocean breezes (as it was today during the terrific air show) was cooler than any row house fans could produce. Many, many, folks did not have air conditioning in the 50's... including Grandma.
