As a collector of all Nevada chips of historic value, I think you are reading too much into the "Borland story" related on this bb and elsewhere, Brian. The commemorative chips Bill made certainly are valid collectibles... they might even be valuable collectibles (someday) [g]. And there are many other collectible non-casino chips; for example the Palms Restaurant gift-chips from Caesars mall I showed last week.
Incidently, I don't think you need to be concerned about sale of graded and encapsulated chips (slabs); none have been produced. If you see what looks like one, it is a sample produced to introduce collectors to the concept. None of these has a grade on it and the chips contained are recent low-value chips.
