Well, Rick, this gets more confusing by the minute.
There are 80 of the dated Borland commemorative chips listed on the club website. Gene states below that "I am not sure the Dunes yellow shirt is real." I have the other 79.
I've never seen your Silver Slipper $5000 before. It's a beauty and it certainly looks "real", but it may be another of Dave Whelan's practice chips. Maybe Gene knows about that one.
The "Jolly Trolly" chips are a curiosity to me. Gene says that Borland made them, so I'll take it as fact... but they certainly aren't part of the dated commemorative set, which I think are some of the nicest looking chips I've seen and absolutely have value as collectibles to me. I just think it's strange that after making the dated set with "Jolly Trolley" spelled correctly, he would make these non-denominated chips with a different spelling, no color in the inlays, and no inserts. Of course, these might have been made before the dated set.
If anyone's got these two for sale, I'm interested, by the way.
