I agree, Gene is a valid contender for this high honor ... as are several other worthy club members.

I simply wonder where was all this new-found support for Gene earlier this year, following the announcement to submit names for consideration that was published in the club magazine last Fall? I hope that Gene (and others) will receive more support next year when the call for recommendations announcement is published by the HOF Committee.

It's easy to post one sentence notes of support on this message board ... quite another matter to detail and submit their background accomplishments on a simple form as to why an individual is worthy of induction into the club's HOF.
