I will not get into this discussion other than to relate to those interested where the terms conservative "right" and liberal "left" originate.
It wasin the British House of Paliment when it was heated by a single large stove. The stove happened to be on the left side of the room and the majority of the house was of a liberal nature. Being the majority they got to pick where in the house they wanted to sit.

I could have this exactly backwards, but I think you can see the meaning I was trying to convey.
