TCR and Casino Chip Price Guide, both cover the same subject, but are also different. TCR lists info that isn't covered in CCPG. CCPG has color photos that greatly help in the ID process and also state 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. To sum it up, one complements the other. Another reference worthy of mention is Paul Hegge's site.
As a relative newbie, I offer the following responses:
1. Of course, all variations should be included. In the case of TCR, it also includes (where/when possible) how many of a certain chip were made. TCR also has a "Notes" section that could include the info.
2. Yes, if it isn't noted in the classification section.
3. Yes, if I liked a particular chip, I certainly would like having the variations as well.
3a. If the chip is high end, I think I'd be grateful to have one. Two, etc. would be a plus, but I could live without having the other versions.
Thanks for letting me give my cent and half...
