Re: NEVADA & DI CD MOLDS AND BORLAND

Archie, I remember Bill Borland as you described him. He was my first contact with "organized" chip collecting back in the early '90's. I, too, remember the cluttered mess and massive numbers of pictures on the wall in his office. He was, indeed, one of a kind! I recollect Bill telling me that he had just sold all of his A.C. chips but did not tell me to whom. At the time I wasn't very disappointed because I didn't have expendable cash at the time and I didn't know s--- from Shineola about chip collecting back then.

After receiving my personalized copy of his Blue Book I was having trouble understanding the contents of the numerous lists that he provided with the Book. After several "high pitched" conversations between Bill and myself I then realized that what I had before me were his selling lists and not Blue Book amendments. He told me point blank that he was sorry he every gave me those lists. It was then that it finally sunk in that they were not amendments.

It's a shame that Bill Borland is no longer with us. He had done so much to document chip and casino history. He is missed.
