some of the local So Cal refineries were sending a lot of their "coke" overseas to Korea or Japan or China to be used in the steel making process. I know that the Port of LA has a HUGE "coke" storage and loading area. Dirtiest job I ever had...running pneumatics in ARCO's coke barn tunnels...YUCK!!! Makes you wanna go back, huh, Mike...just taking a stroll down memory lane -- in steel-toe boots and orange NOMEX suits. Steve B
