This was the basis for my earlier comments in the other thread regarding the UK.

The only drawback here, is that even after they have signed off, they reserve the right to go back six years if 'a discrepancy' as a result of a ruling is subsequently proved. They cant charge you interest or invoke a penalty though. However, if there is a further refund due to you as a result, they do have to pay you interest.
