Re: Help for Silver Strikes

Hey Tom; There is no basic strategy card for Silver Strikes like BJ players follow. So whatever works for you is fine. That's your basic strategy.... do it. These SS machines are not like regular slot machines. Double bars and triple bars simply do not hit that often. The single bars on the first payline usually comes up quite frequently, if you have the patience and stomach to ignore the occassional 2nd/3rd line hits without the 2nd 3rd coins in. The number of times the 2nd and 3rd lines do hit does not pay for the multiple coin action the SS machines nail you for, in my opinion. I've seen many local folks put in one quarter at a time. After $100 of play, (400 spins) they are pretty close to ten strikes in their tray and they cash out whatever quarters are on the credit meter from cherries and mixed bars and leave. They get their free show ticket invitations in the mail and a free buffet coupon and points on their slot card for their action and they are happy, cause that's all they were looking for when they sat down to play... not a real big killing. I've never seen anyone hit the three sevens on those machines... which have all but disappeared in A.C. The only two properties that have them any more are one machine at Caesars and two machines at Claridge. The rest of them are all gone! Sometimes I would watch awhile at Trump Plaza where at one time they had about 15 of these $10 machines ... all against one wall. A player would drop $20 or $30 or more in the machine without a hit and leave. That's the machine I would grab, as I felt I was already $10 to $20 ahead if the previous player who lost, was me playing. Twisted kind of logic I guess, but it seemed that a SS would usually drop into the tray before I put my $10 bucks into the machine.... one quarter at a time. The long and short of it all is that there is no real system for playing any of these machines. That's why they call it gambling. In fact, notice the casinos don't even like to use that word anymore. In casino parlance now, it's called, "gaming". More respectable, don't you know....
