I hope that some of the members remember that it was Joe's post that brought out all this information.
Most of this information was already available on the Club website and BBS.
Further, many have said that they have also heard from dealers who were against the project making what he said he heard not so unlikely eh?
Tyrus said that he "heard from dealers who were opposed" to the project. They are probably concerned that a full time museum/store (one concept) might compete with their business using excess chips donated to the Club. This is an issue that the V&F Committee must explore. He did not say that he heard anyone say it was a scam.
Some folks are taking this way too personally and they shouldn't. Members (even the wet behind the ears new ones) not only have a right to question the leadership, they have an obligation to do so.
When someone accuses me, my committee members or other elected & volunteer leaders in this Club of unethical conduct -- ie: running a scam -- you bet I take it personally. There was no questioning of this project, only repetition of unsubstantiated gossip. As Tyrus has so eloquently stated above, Mike, he or I will answer any ligitimate question on this subject. We may only be able to say "We don't know yet", but we will answer.
