Maybe I can offer a different explanation. First our organization has a 501(c)3 status based on our educational mission. This means that members and others can make tax deductible donations of their collection to the Club. This means we would need a place to display the items. We already have several members who have said that they would donate their collections if we have a facility. I know a few of these that are very substantial collections that any museum would cherish. They don't want them boxed up in storage for obvious reasons. In addition this helps us achieve our mission of education. One of the donations that has been proposed is a large library of books on gaming, so in addition to any displays there would also be research capabilities.

There is so much more that we could achieve such as being the archivists for some of the gaming companies as well as working with the City and maybe UNLV. We are just beginning to explore all our options.
