I would think that it involves less time and I know that it involves less haggling to buy off of eBay than dealing with chip dealers. Plus, with current prices such as they are, eBay is still a deal. I don't know about AC chips because I don't collect them, but I do know that many of the obsolete Las Vegas chips that rdrock1 has won on eBay are not easy to find and are not on anyones website. And by increasing the price paid for his chips, he is laying the foundation to increase the value of his entire collection later (hopefully). Ask any of the dealers at this year's convention and you will probably hear that this year was one of their best both in terms of volume and total sales.
I do wish, however, that he'd at least back off of the chips that I'm bidding on!! Steve B
