Stu - Know that we've both had some fun with this, I propose a truce. As a stated eariler, I just got back into the hobby after a LONG absence. I have lost touch with the people I used to deal with in the past (12years+). Ebay is simply an easiser way for me to do business. Do I know that there are cheaper places/dealers to find chips? Of course! I just did'nt see that paying $12.50 for a chip that has a book value of $12 was that far out of reach. Back in the day many of the obsolete Atlantic City chips were simply not around. Many of the people that had them lying the house just had no idea what they had or what they are worth. Remember, this was back in the late eighties, the computer age was just beginning. With internet and Ebay, people have begun to realize what they have and are willing to part with them. This is just my opinion, I could be wrong. I just remember Brighton $1 chips going for up to $90, beleive it or not. How times have changed. I had at one time every $1, $2.50, and $5 Atlantic City had. That was a very long time ago and there seems to been quite a few issued since then. I liquidated my entire collection (which broke my heart)in the Spring of 1994. Recently I decided to try to rebuild my collection from scratch, it is going pretty well even if I sometimes overpay for some items, I also get great deals for others. I certinly appreiciate your concern for the hobby, it says a lot about your character. I look forward to talking "chips" with you in the future.
