Here is my most frustrating story along the same line.

I collect pottery and saw an item, worth probably $225 being offered for $1600.

I wrote the seller and said maybe they didn't know the value of the item and made a reasonable offer.

They wrote me back that eventually somone would feel it was that valuable.

Two years later, I still see it every once in a while on eBay... they are down to about $800.

I hope to own it in about two more years if all goes well.
