Jim, if I'd had your information I could have told my Dad as he spending all those years at the VA Hospital that he had not been truthful. Dad suffered for years and years because of his having served in Southeast Asia under Stillwell in those circumstances. Those ulcers and the malaria...so if he fabricated a story, well let it go. He probably didn't go to the pole with Scott either. I promise, with your info I'll never bring it up. Thanks for your quick research.
As to the ethical/moral treatment of anyone in war I didn't know war was ethical/moral in the first place. But since I put my time in (Dad told me in the USAF the officers went to fight not the enlistedmen) as well I salute anyone who has gone in our behalf. While I was serving I kept my Geneva Card taped to my dog tags knowing full well I'd be treated accordingly. Again thanks for helping me out.
I made a mistake and you've helped me get past it. It's difficult for me to realize that I inappropriately, and without regard knowlingly or unknowlingly, put out a falsehood over my name. I try to be so careful, my apologies to all.
Now how about that $5 Sands Jim sold recently on eBay.
Regards,
