Marc is correct about flat bets and lay odds against them always being on. As far as only betting the lay odds on the come out roll, what is the difference between the come out roll and any other roll??? Nothing. You should always take maximum odds either on or against any come/pass, or don't come/don't pass flat bets. Always. If you don't you're giving away too much to the house already. The best bet in the casino is pass/don't pass with max odds. Take advantage of it.
