Two comments, Paul --- they were most likely real chips and they were most likely not great prices.

Had you said you found only one person selling ivory, then the chips could have been fake, or real and at great prices.

You should realize that several of the big collector/dealers go to these shows. I would wager that 3 out of 4 are the typical ebay buyers/sellers.

If you were interested in chips, you should have talked to them. I'm sure after talking to several of the dealers you would be able to tell a real ivory from a fake.

Also, next time get some names. I would probably recognize several.

I bet Tom French (ebay: hotguano) had a table. Tom sells real stuff.
