Re: Getting On Prodigy
In Response To: Re: Getting On Prodigy ()

Hi Jim,

A firewalled area is basically a place online that can't be accessed unless you subscribe to it. I suppose the term could be used to describe just about anything that you have to subscribe to in order to enter or open on the internet.

I tried a local ISP too, got tired of having to download darn near everything to do anything everytime I wanted to do something. <G> Prodigy Internet bundled almost all of the software needed to have all hoops that you need to jump through already taken care of in one package.

If you're connecting at 42k, you have the cleanest line from your computer all the way thru your house to your local node. I haven't been able to find a location anywhere since I've been using a 56k Flex that'll connect faster than 33.6, and I do a fair amount of traveling. ...and I'm not just talking about Prodigy.

Bob
