In the instant case it probably doesn't matter since there are so many items for sale. If, for example, there were only 10 items in the auction, then the ten highest bids would win but all would pay at the bid price of the lowest winning bid. In the example I just cited, assume minimum bid was $10. If 6 people bid above $10 and 8 people bid the minimum $10, then the 6 high bidders would win and the first 4 people who bid had $10 would win. All ten winners, however, would only pay $10.
