Aladdin To Change Owners Later This Year

(Las Vegas, NV) -- If all goes well, the Aladdin will have new owners and a new name by September. State Gaming Control Board Chairman Dennis Neilander tells the "Review-Journal" license hearings are scheduled this summer for the group that plans to take over the Strip resort and make it a Planet Hollywood property. Neilander says so far nothing has turned up that would delay the licensing or transfer process. Planet Hollywood Chairman Robert Earl and other investors, including Starwood Hotels, will spend $90 million on modifications to improve access to the Aladdin from the Las Vegas Strip. The group bought the bankrupt casino for $635 million at auction last June.
