I met Ed "Bid Daddy" Roth at the Hard Rock car show when these chips came out. We visited after as well & he wanted me to put together a business of making chips for him. The plan was to take chips around to car shows. His son supposedly took some of the singles around to sell of the Hard Rock sets. He aleady has someone working on this & I was to work with them but we both got busy & it never happened. He really thought the chips were cool & wanted more. He was looking at making sets with his Rat Fink designs & cars. He sold me some of his 125 of each chip that he got as part of the royalties. Which before he passed away he had no idea where they all disappeared to. I wish I had bought a lot more! I talked to him on the phone several times & was going to go up & meet with him. Of course we both got too busy & I was very saddened by his death. He was one of those "cool" old car hot rodders & since I am into cars & collected some of his Rat Fink stuff years ago it was great to know him a little bit.
I saw some of his stuff, shirts, etc. at the car show I was at here in Santa Barbara yesterday. The first day of the cruise I wore one of his shirts- wish I had more as this one is worn out!
If you are into cars don't miss this show we have here! 400 cars & they block off State Street the main drag. Cars from all over the US! I didn't win any trophies but talked to lots of nice people & we all had a blast.

There are many collectors of Hard Rock as we know & Roth has a following too. These great limited chips will do nothing but go up. I wouldn't sell my autographed set for anything. Well maybe $33,000!
