Actually it's only the home page - the auction pages are fine.

Here's the deal - most defaults are set to pixels (600, 800, whatever). The trick to using tables is to use percentages instead of pixels so it looks the same in any resolution.

USA Today, MSNBC and may other "top" sites look fine in 800 x 600, and have a large, unseemly gap on the right-hand side at higher resolutions. IMO - they look like crap. Try it and you will see what I mean.
