Gene, It wasn't me! I was at the Yankee game that day. Reminds me of a story.
I was talking baseball with former Yankee & Dodger pitcher Al Downing. The subject of what pitch he threw to Hank Aaron when Hammerin Hank broke Ruth's record came up. He said the catcher called for the ball high & in but it was right in Aaron's zone & off it went. I asked him if it was a fastball or a curve. His reply, "Who gives a s--t what it was. It was the wrong pitch!!!" He laughed, signed my copy of Take Me Out to the Ballgame, & then proceeded to get drunk at the bar.
