Empty wooden cigar boxes can be picked up for $3 to $6 depending on which cigar shop you go to. The cardboard boxes are much less... even free.

It's just packing/shipping material to them. I'm amazed at how much care the cigar shipper puts into the creating such nice "temporary" boxes!
