Archie, the reason I did not mention anything about waiting to collect the money was that it was already too late. It would have been rather difficult to suggest that all funds collected up to that point be returned. One learns to deal with the situation as it takes place. If you remember correctly it was difficult enough just to get the separate bank account.

The building fund internal control should have been set up prior to collecting the first dollar. The committee to run the building fund and establish planning should have been done before collecting any money. It wasn't. I believe if one reviews the circumstances you will see there was not much choice in dealing with the situation. It was a different board with different officers.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming. there is nothing wrong with hoping. I just don't want anyone including you to forget the reality of having $50,000 sitting in a bank account with no place to go.
