That sounds like a great idea. I'm just getting into the idea of chip collecting, but these posts about people getting ripped off have made me very hesitant. I want to be able to enjoy the hobby, not worry that I'm blowing my cash or being mislead. That's not my idea of a hobby...that's too much work!

I'm glad this subject was brought up, since I was just trying to make sense of the price guides available. I read the beginner FAQ and it seems to me that the two major price guides are "The Chip Rack" and the "Official U.S. Casino Chip Price Guide". Am I correct? I figure that the majority of chips I'd like to collect are from Vegas and Reno, but I would also like a few chips from AC and other areas, so maybe the US Casino Chip Price Guide would be best for me? The general feeling I'm getting is that these two guides are hard to come by these days...is that correct?
