On Wednesday I put a post on the board to try to advertise my ebay auctions, now that Andy finally explained to me how to show the link to my auctions I do this a couple of times during the week (thanks Andy). On this post however Paul Sax posted that I might sell more chips if my shipping charge wasn't so high ($1.80). Well, here is the break down, the Ebay insertion fee is $.35, the final value fee (5.25%) is $.34 based on the chip selling for $6.50, my listed price for most auctions. Paypal fee on a $6.50 chip + $1.80 shipping charge ($8.30), is $.54, about 80% 0f my buyers pay with Paypal. The padded envelopes when I buy them in bulk are $.13 each and postage is $.46. I have to go to the post office and stand in line to get the package hand stamped so that the chip will not be damaged going through a stamping machine. The round trip to the post office is 10 miles and gasoline isn't free! My total expence is $1.82, not counting my time and gas. Paul you are right my $1.80 shipping charge should be changed, maybe to $2.00!I just thought I would try to set the record straight.
