John,
While I have never had any personal dealings or have any beef with you I wanted to point something out. Personally I have no problem with most of what you do. I think people ought to have a right to hawk anything they want on Ebay as long as its legal. Part of what makes this country so great is the free market system. It does not bother me at all that you sell information, trade chips for shipping tape, or even if you hawked diamond studded dog polishers. What does bother me though is something that has been brought up on this board several times now. You seem to have given out an extraordinary amount of negative feedback. It appears from what I have looked at that almost 30% of the feedback you have given over the last 6 months or so has been negative and very harsh. While I personally have only a fraction of your feedbacks (only 500 or so), I pride myself on never having received or given out a negative. Yes there have been a few less than desirable sellers or buyers that I have dealt with, but nothing worth slamming them with a negative. What I don't understand is that most of your Ebay business is from fellow chippers like myself, many whom read this board.
I for one am now afraid to bid in one of your auctions as I fear I run a better than average chance of ruining my stellar feedback if you are unpleased with our transaction. Just my opinion, but why alienate yourself more with these posts that thrash out at other collectors? Would it not be better to explain yourself in a civil manor and in effect win over new potential customers? Once again, I can't claim 3,500 feedbacks, but it just seems to make good business sense to me.
