Once again Jimbo; who accuses others of not checking out facts, fails to do his own homework before shooting off his mouth again. In Jim's post "Poker Digest Article By Trimble", which was more of a political endorsement rather than about Gene's fine article in Poker Digest, Jimbo states, "If one listens to Archie we are broke or on the edge of being broke. If we should spend a buck we would not have any funds for an emergency!" Where did you get that quote from Jimbo? I've always said that this organization is in a healthy financial position and I'm proud of this Board for that accomplishment. Never have I said that "we are broke or on the verge of being broke". Jim, I don't know what your agenda is, and I don't really care. I'm not running for re-election, so I'm not seeking your vote or anyone elses... but I'm not going to allow you to malign some good hard working club officers who are currently sitting on the club Board with your distortions and half truths. Another one of your outrageous claims in the same paragraph, $15 to $50 for the year for outside promotion is not my idea of excessive promotion." Nor is it the Board's idea of excessive promotion either Jimbo. For your information Big Jim; the cover of Gaming Times Magazine, you know, the one with the nice full color club logo on it issued prior to the convention...... cost this club $1000! Hardly not what I would consider "$15 to $50" for the year. Jim, you ought to follow your own advice given so freely on this board and check your facts before spewing out your half-truths on this BB. Jim, do you read every publication that is published in this country? Do you know where the club and our Publicity Director Dennis Zeller has submitted "outside ads" and/or news releases? Where do you think that many of our over 2000 members came from? By keeping this club a big dark secret? Whomever is successful in this upcoming election, maybe the new board will consider naming YOU as the new Publicity Chairman since we are doing such a lousy job informing the "outside world" of the club's existance.
The membership elects five people every two years to this Board and entrusts them (not Jim Perlowski) to make decisions on the membership's behalf. If Jim Perlowski wants to make some of those decisions running this organization, then Jim Perlowski ought to consider running for one of the five offices. Then Jim Perlowski can change the world. I think we're doing, and have done, pretty damn good! Maybe some of the heretofore silent candidates who are running for office will respond. Thanks for your "opinion" Jim.... I have always been upfront and spoken mine. It's unfortuante that you choose to distort it. At least on this BB, I get a chance to set the record straight. Regards, Archie
