If remodeled, it may take abatement, before work can start. If demolished, it must be removed. Then the claim that it's like a poison, already there.

But if they don't do anything, it's as is.

Over the years, we have discovered that asbestos can cause health problems, so it's not used.

Then the panic of removal, which in fact creates more of a problem, than just leaving it in place. There are ways to encase or stop the old asbestos from shedding, which is the least expensive and least likely to cause a health issue.

It's possible without the doom and gloom of fear mongers, to reduce or remove the majority of the hazard, and re-open the casino.

Tearing down the building is the most expensive removal and most hazardous. Renovation will take some clean-up and some containment. Doing nothing means they can re-open without doing much at all.

The problem is that when you take a pile of old broken down asbestos and start to blow it around, move it, or tear it off the walls and ceiling, it's going to polute the air with hazardous materials.
