Bill, I was stationed there in early 1960's. We had the Thunderbirds stop in for refueling on their way to an airshow in Seattle. For a SAC base it was a thrill seeing their speed...B-52's and B-47's take off rather slowly. They were in F-104's, I think, came in upside down about 250 feet above the runway at about 300kn. Awesome!
I know where that picture was taken...glad to see the out houses have been removed.
Do you suppose the guy standing by the crash truck might be thinking about doing something? Hey, I think I remember him.
