I was just hanging out today with my wife, parents and new daughter at home in our condo when the fire alarm went off. Our condo building has ten units in it, most of which are two bedrooms. We are at the end and have the three bedrooms. Anyway, the fire alarm is linked to each condo, so if one goes off, they all do.

Once the alarm went off, I hustled my wife, parents, baby, and diaper bag out of the house. I then went back in and conducted a search to see if it was our place on fire. It was not. I then went outside to where I keep my cat carrier. Piicked it up and brought it inside in case I had to evacuate my house.

Once everyone was safely out, I went in and retrieved my chip collection. It is only about 1000 chips, but after my family it is my pride and joy.

Everything turned out fine, false alarm, but made me realize that I need a safer way to store my chips. I have homeowners insurance and that would cover my furnishing and all of my other stuff I really do not care about.
