My daughter was recently so kind as to fill our computer up with Spy Bots etc.

My firewall prevented any info from leaving. My company dictates using Symantec software, but I have used Black Ice Defender in the past and I am going to look into switching back. Get a firewall if you do not have one already.

I'm pretty handy with a computer and nailed 95% of the junk by looking at processes and installed sw. There were still ad pop-ups occuring when we used IExplorer. I looked around for a SpyWare package.

Ad Aware got good marks. Spy-Bot Search and Destroy (another freeware) got better marks. The SW from Enigma SW got terrible marks.

I loaded Spy-Bot Search and Destroy and it caught about 5 items. Fixed them, and no more pop-ups.
