I like Jackpot because you guys charge less and give more. Lower % of final sale price. Flat listing fee, no extras for reserve price, buy it now and the other extras eBay charges for - that's a big plus for a seller and should equate to lower prices for the buyer.

A Seller on eBay tried to charge me $8.70 to ship a single chip - claiming that he had to make up eBay and PayPal's take somehow. He's a member and should be ashamed (Yes Doug - YOU).

The downside is that I think fewer buyers look at JPA, consequently chips without reserve sell for less. I got a Betty Boop and Grand Opening from Bille Acheman at JPA for considerably less than they went for on eBay when he listed them there.

If there were changes I could make at JPA, they would be:

Add an "Ask seller a Question" link that functions like eBay's. Presently you have to get the seller's email, and send him an email. Not a big deal, but if you send 20 a day, it saves some clicks.

Keep "Watch" items intact after the auction closes so you can see what it sold for. As it is now, the item simply goes away when the auction is over and you have no idea what it went for. I guess it saves some database space, but not much?

Last, I'd like to see you use the built-in encryption eBay uses so a username and password DO NOT appear in the URL, as so:

http://cgi1.ebay.com/aw-cgi/ebayISAPI.dll?=UserNameHere&pass=EncryptedStringGoesHere

Instead of JPA's, where both appear in the URL.

http://www.jackpotauctions.com/cgi-bin/12345.pl?mypagedisp&UserNameHere&PasswordHere

Both run on the same server software, so it can be done. I mentioned it to the webmaster, who said he's "look into it." Of course that was months ago and I doubt he did more than tell me that to get rid of me.

JPA is a great idea of chippers for chippers - the only thing you need is a bit more traffic. I'd rather list my chips for sale at JPA with a reserve, rather than let eBay/PayPal get me for 8% - ouch!

If some of the bigger sellers went over - Bill, Les and a few others JPA would soon be chip central IMO.
