I had a feeling that would be the reality of it. I don't collect tokens, and never asked for unc tokens at the cage.
I did have a time in Antigua, at the Kings Casino where after tipping a very friendly and fun dealer a few times while playing blackjack, a pit boss noticed me sorting through chips and pocketing a few nice conditions ones. He came to the table and talked for a few minutes, and actually thanked me for tipping the dealers...and mentioned it wasnt seen all that often there. He then told me that if i was interested, they had a new rack of $0.50 chips that havent seen the tables, along with some $1.00 picture tokens which just arrived. He told me to go to the cage and they would meet me. He asked my first name, and then told me they would come out and meet me. I quickly went over, where the cage manager came out, asked if I was Terry, and then asked how many I wanted. I dont remember how many I actually ended up asking for, I think it was around 30 of the chips and 10 of the tokens. The tokens went like they were made of gold! I wish n ow I had picked up 30 of them.
I did manage to even find a couple slightly used of the tokens in a pair of my shorts the following summer. Here's a scan of the tokens.
