I will try to put together a more detailed report together at a later date, but for now, here is a brief rundown.
I arrived at Binion's shortly before 1:00 AM this morning.
I waited about 5 minutes for a seat at the only game going.
Nearly 9 hours later there were still 4 players in the game. We debated whether we should simply continue playing until the US Marshalls closed the table or if there was a more dignified way to end it.
We decided that each player would contribute a modest amount to the pot and play the hand face-up with no additional betting and with the dealers pocketing the entire pot.
If the Horseshoe never reopens I can say that I participated in the last hand of poker ever dealt there. My hand ranked 3rd of the 4 hands but at that point it mattered little.
It was a VERY surreal experience.
If those walls could talk..............
Best Regards,
Murph
This is how the board looked when I left the Horseshoe around 9:50 AM this morning.
