... description, Andy, and think it could have been more forthcoming. However, I disagree with your two specific objections:
>> He lists it under Casino Chips on eBay.
Lots of things get listed under "casino chips" on eBay that aren't, including many generic and fantasy chips. The mere use of the "casino chips" listing is not in and of itself misleading.
>> He also never says a word about "Cafe" in his description.
>> If you don't see it on the chip itself ...
The auction does have two pictures of the chip, one of which is quite large. The word "cafe" on the chip can be seen clearly in the scan. There's nothing about the chip itself which suggests casino use. He could have made this more clear by using the title "unique HARD ROCK CAFE marblized BRASS CORE chip".
I would like to have seen:
1) a more accurate description, including a statement that the seller made it himself (inasmuch as not everyone knows that "chip-quest" = David Whalen = maker of these chips);
2) the chip described as a "souvenir" chip, which would accurately state its nature; and
3) the chip described as a "modified" or "remanufactured" chip, including a statement that the original plastic had been removed and replaced with the "craftsman's artistic creation".
I'm sure David is reading this thread, too, and hope he will consider revising his desciptions of this or similar chips to make them more accurate.
