If you collect metal center chips, either the Bud Jones coin inlays or the Paul-son counterpart, the aluminum metal inlays, here are a couple you may not have seen before. There were very few Paul-son metal inlays made for foreign casinos... most were used in Nevada, with a handful in California.
These chips use a stamped aluminum center that is anodized with either a silver, gold, red, blue, or green finish. I've also seen black on the Fremont chips, but I think those are painted. Most of the metal center have dates to indicate when made. These have 1975 dates. Not common as so many of the more recent Puerto Rico chips are, these are listed as value D and C in Archie Black's book on PR chips.
The Isla Verde Beach Resort $5 chip has a green inlay while the $25 has a gold. I would grade both VGD with no damage, and they have genuine Puerto Rican casino dirt on them.
Price is low book of $40 for the green chip and $25 for the yellow one, shipping included. I have only the two extras.
For whatever it's worth, Albert Rollins listed these at $100 and $150 respectively in his book.
