What makes you think the Cal-Neva Lodge ashtray is a fake, other than someone coming up with them in number and running private auctions.

I hate private auctions for public items. The only time I've seen them is when someone starts asking questions about the claims made or the authenticity of the item. (yes, there are reasons for private auctions, but not for an ashtray)

What did you determine from your personal obesrvation of one of these? Maybe it would help others if there are more coming into circulation.

Could this be a reproduction (gift store item) or does it look like a copy made to deceive?
