You hit the nail on the head Dwain! So many dealers price their slabbed coins at nearly double the unslabbed value just because the have that NGC, PCI or ANACS label on them. Granted it garauntees the Pedigree of the coin, but being stuck in plastic should, in no way, alter the actual value of the item.
Slabbing should have been a way to protect your high-end coins from the elements and such. Much like a high-tech airtite with a built in label. But instead it became a way for unscrupulous dealers and investors to begin gouge-pricing and brain-washing the collector base. An example? Look at the recent slabbing of state quarters!

As for slabbing of chips, I say No Way!
