Anthony, needless to say no one, you, Jay or myself are selling chips to enhance our personal wealth by any great means. Others may and that's fine. My main point here is the shipping fees and once again I will reiterate my feelings.
First of all, I haven't bought a bubble wrapper in literally years (I recycle the ones I get) and therefore it cost me nothing in supplies to ship my chips other than possibly scotch tape and staples. I do not charge for my labor of love--time, gas, electricity used in reading the board, wear and tear on my fingers or the depreciatable effects on my already deteriorating mind.
It cost me $0.49¢ to mail a single chip. $0.60¢ to mail 2 to 5 chips and $0.83¢ to mail from 6 to 8 chips. Ergo, I feel charging actual cost or $1.00 is fair. I am not about to insure inexpensive chips and when I sell and ship an expensive chip, I feel I make plenty of money as it is to self-insure the package. I guarantee all my chips will arrive safely and if by any chance they didn't, I will suffer the consequences.
Now don't get me wrong. Many chips I offer for sale (either on ebay or on this board,) I hope to make a good profit on, but I want to make it on the chip not on the inflated postage--and I do feel there is a difference.
Believe it or not, they're a lot of chips for sale (at this very momement) that I would like to have, but will not bid on them because I feel the shipping is too excessive. Both the seller and myself are losing out because of my stubbornness, but if I were to give in to this "blackmail " I might even go a step further and find myslf voting for a democrat--and that I can't let happen.
Enough said, Anthony. Forget about everything mentioned in the above posts and stay friends. This is a great hobby with great people participating. Enjoy, sell a bunch of chips and I promise to get off your back about shipping charges-----until next year.
