I have a .50 cent Gold Country Motor Inn (Elko) N0249, that is in mint condition. The hot stamp is entirley Silver, even under a magnifing glass. I have always thought this was an error in the TCR. If anyone can send me a scan of a gold hot stamp I would like to see it, in fact I would like to buy it.
