Most of the chips posted are advertisement chips though they could be considered salesman's sample chips and perhaps were used for that purpose. When I get home, I'll put some of my real salesman sample chips on line...chips that were offered by, among other salesemen, Frank Walters. These, for the most part are not pretty; they are overstamps, although he had some O'Dwyer and other machined style chips that were clean. Other salesmen samples are clean with holes on two sides where they were tied in with wire to a salesman's books. I think Robert has one or more of the books. I have a few holed chips but no books.
