I only saw one that Whalen did. The 1st one he was to deliver to a chip dealer.
It was a Reno $100. Using a magnifying glass, I could not tell the difference side by side with a real one. Cross hatching included and was done with a special $70 tool he bought. I guessed right but it was a 50-50 chance. That was over a year ago.
Whalen has told me several times since that he has way more orders backed up, to fix them than he has time.
There has to be several 100 once drilled clay chips in the hobby by now. He has mentioned some names he has fixed them for. Its a who's who in the hobby.
Archie, I quit NV old chips several years ago because of what I was seeing happen. If I was to start again, I would never buy a chip that was known in both drilled and un-drilled condition without submitting it to an X-Ray.
Its a shame but its the way it is. It can only get worse. The drill holes were part of the history of the chips. That history is soon to be gone because of greed. IMO clay drilled chips are now just as tainted as brass core chips.
