I agree with Archie, its not NJ.
I always thought it was Lakewood, OH outside Cleveland. (remember the mold was sold out of Cincinnati)
In 1996 I found a still active 80 year old reporter and historian from Lakewood, OH. There was a Lakewood Supper Club there, if I remember right its still there. He called me back after 3 weeks of researching. Like he told me the 1st day, no gambling ever at that club.

Like I said could be Chicago, but I've seen no proof.
