No joke. I sincerely admire the tracking you do on ebay of certain chips and the follow-up detailed record keeping. Do you do this for all chips Jay ... or just Nevada chips?
One thing that you didn't comment on is that the price realized in ALL of these auctions depends largely upon WHO is bidding. Because one chip brought X amount of dollars, does not mean the next similar chip at auction will do the same. It may bring less money, it may bring more money, it might not sell at all. Someone who was not around to bid on chip X last month, may be around to bid on a similar one that comes up next month. Conversely, the person who was the top bidder the last time chip X was offered, in all probability will not be a competitor bidder the next time around since he/she does not "need" the chip anymore. In addition, because chip X brought Y money this time around, perhaps the next similar chip that is offered may be in superior condition or lesser condition than the last one and may bring a completely different price and completely different bidders who may not have been interested in the same chip in a lesser grade last time.
Lastly, if Goldplated Skip is in the hunt and is bidding on ANY chip on ebay ... chances are it's going to go for a lot of money. Not too many people top Skip's ("I've got to have it") bids! Skip's the kind of bidder I want participating in my ebay auctions!
